Every time I come to New Mexico I have to make a trip up to Santa Fe and Kakawa. It is by far the best chocolate shop I have ever visited. I’ve mentioned it quite a few times on this blog, all you have to do is search for Kakawa and you’ll see. The menu changes every time we come but the cups never do, though I am sure they wash them! This time around I got the Atole. It was filled with chili and blue corn meal. It was more like drinking pudding than a sipping chocolate. V is not a fan of chocolate so she just sat and gave us good company. But S and my mom and I filled our bellies with so much chocolate. We had hot chocolate, tried the decadent brownies and had various gourmet chocolates. Think apricot and basil infused dark chocolate truffle.
I’m doing this just to make all you chocolate lovers drool. Just in case you are wondering, they make their hot chocolate with water, not milk. They ship too if you live somewhere far away and want a taste of old world chocolate but can’t make it to the shop!
