This weekend saw:
:: the last homemade meal shared with the person who bought our kitchen table
:: hours of sorting, trashing and packing
:: three runs to my favorite thrift shop to donate things leftover
:: three individual visits with different friends to have them adopt things and say goodbye
:: after eating out for three meals we are already tired of it
:: us moving into a hotel down the road
:: swimming before dinner in the cool afternoon air
:: a walk to dinner to begin the daily habit of walking everywhere
:: later than usual bedtime due to new surroundings

Also my friend Annie the creative force behind Alphabet Glue is having the two year anniversary of the online magazine this week and is having lovely sale to go with it!

I am curious – what is your favorite thrift store in Tucson? I’m always looking for good places to check out when I’m in need of something!
P.S. So far the boys’ new couch has mostly been used as a crash landing pad while they take flying leaps off the big couch but they have used it a bit as an actual couch too.
kathleen- I love 1st Rate 2nd Hand. It’s a non profit jewish thrift shop on Speedway. They have all the cool funky stuff and some not so cool stuff, but they really try hard.
Yay about the couch!! Sofia always used it as a jumping board!
I feel a big sigh at the end of this post
I hope it all went well. And now onward to an amazing adventure.
Hope your last week in Tucson is a good one.
So far we have still been doing work. Hopefully after tomorrow’s boxes get sent off to France we will be all set to relax. We just down sized again. Thinking we could take 6 suitcases I packed that way. However when we moved all the suitcases, plus the stroller and care seats over to the hotel we realized six would be unruly and that we could never get them into a European car! So away stuff went and now we have 4 suitcases. There are a several more boxes being sent but it’s full of handmades that I could not leave behind.
Go happily and safely! Looking forward to hearing your exciting new adventures.
Thank you very much Renee!
I have been thinking of you guys so much. I hope this week isn’t too crazy, in the hotel. Glad to hear they have a pool. And yes, eating out all the time is gross. Soon, soon you’ll have a cute little kitchen again to work your magic. You’re almost there!! ox
It’s been a bit mad so far but we have made time for the pool so the girls can relax. Tonight we hit the salad bar at Whole Foods for a raw veggie and fruit dinner that was nice.
so much done, so much to look forward to!
It’s becoming very real now that we sold our car today and emptied out the last stuff from the house.
I am so excited for you! Can’t wait to hear part II-what an adventure
I know I’m ready to get to part two! But I also want to take it slow so the girls don’t feel rushed, which of course they do. This is all craziness to them.
Phew, the huge weight of that monstrous house has finally been lifted. I’m proud of you for being so courageous throughout this tumultuous process, and I look forward to the exciting adventure that awaits. I hope you enjoy lots of laughs and smiles this week. Breathe deeply and enjoy the ride! I love you, KCBella!!
I know! Now I so look forward to Thursday’s walk through so we can really be rid of the place! I love you too Beckhaha!
Wow! Do you think you could stop by my house on the way to France and help me clean out? I so very impressed. You are another step closer to the grand adventure!
Sure! Just go around your house and get rid of everything that doesn’t fit into 4 suitcases! And if those suitcases can’t fit in the trunk of your car get rid of more stuff!
