This weekend was:

  • a new big girl mattress for S
  • a new little girl bed for V but still next to mama
  • me scrambling to make finish the quilt I started two months ago for S’s new bed
  • a visit from a old friend and two bottle of wine
  • my favorite Moroccan tagine dish (see the twitter feed)
  • early morning walks have started again due to cooler mornings
  • 8 quarts of apple sauce were made, one jar broke
  • made apple cake for breakfast
  • a tornado of house cleaning, which resulted in a lovely clean house only to be undone in a day
  • feeling the rhythm on and off, something we haven’t done in a long time

I love how much baking you do. That cake looks nothing short of divine. Oh, and a friend + 2 bottles of wine = you’re a lucky one!

I didn’t realize that I do so much baking till you mentioned it! I like to experiment with making whole grain baked goods with natural sugars. I’ll have the recipe up for the apple cake next week. I don’t know why I attempt to bake with two kids though….:)

  2. baking is such a part of motherhood for me. hoping it is something that provides good eats and good memories for my littles :)

I love the article you did for ROTH about baking. That was really lovely to read. :) I hope my girls remember me as a bread baker. At 3 and 1 they are already partial to my bread over bread bought even at a bakery.

  3. Sounds like a lovely weekend, especially the part about a friend and wine – nice!
